Muswell Hill is situated close to Alexandra Park and Highgate woods and is one of the most fashionable places to live in North London. The architecture ranges from the Victorian and Edwardian property to more contemporary styles.

Although being situated on a hilltop, Muswell Hill is not directly served by tube or train, it has an extensive bus network, linking it with many tube and rail stations. There is also a weekly farmers' market at the foot of Muswell Hill in Alexandra Park selling fresh organic produce.
